Sisters Making Change

Sisters Making Change (SMC)

Sisters Making Change is a weekly cultural enrichment group for young ladies grades 6th - 12th.

SMC provides a fun workshop that allows youth to talk, learn, discuss, and receive support surrounding topics such as sisterhood, culture, community, health/wellness and social justice. This group is dedicated to uplifting, loving, supporting and igniting the sisterhood inside all of us as well as our communities.

What kinds of conversations will SMC have?

We provide ways for young women to engage in transparent discussions about the intersections of: community, culture, life, relationships, -isms, college, career, health and wellness, network, current events, pop culture, strengthening current relationships, forming new ones, and everything in between; while making new friends and engaging in different activities.

Who runs Sisters Making Change?

Sisters Making Change is facilitated by Women who identifies and aligns with the mission, vision, and identity behind the workshop. Additional staff members and teachers can join the group dependent upon the Staff to Youth ratio. All facilitators bring to the group individual experiences, lessons, and knowledge to be shared.
